It was introduced as a replacement of the subclass 457 visa. When Australian employers experience a shortage of skilled workers and unable to fulfil this shortage from among Australians, recruitment is allowed from overseas pools of talent. Even though Australian workers are first preference for the job, it presents a good opportunity for applicants to be sponsored by an Australian employer. Eligibility requires an applicant to be sponsored by an approved business and for an approved occupation. Visa holders can work under any one of the three existing streams- short term, medium term, and labour agreement stream.
It’s a permanent residency visa for overseas skilled workers to work in Australia, nominated by an Australian employer. Applicants may be applying from within or outside Australia. Nomination is provided by an approved Australian employer/business owner. Applicants
must be below 50 years of age and a visa must be applied within 6 months of receiving the nomination. Applicants have an option to apply for ENS visa under The Temporary Residence Transition Scheme, The Direct Entry Stream, and The Agreement Stream. It allows you to work, live, and study in Australia for an indefinite period.
Replaced by the Skilled Employer Sponsored Visa. Unlike other skilled visas, this subclass of visas does not grant permanent residency to visa holders. However, over time, 494 visa holders can become eligible for a skilled regional permanent residency visa, subclass 191. Some criteria need to be met such as employers must be based in a designated regional area of Australia. The list of designated regional areas may change with the addition of more areas in the list. Applicants’ skill must be included in the list of relevant occupations. Applicants must not be more than 45 years of age, should have a relevant 3 years of experience, and must possess English proficiency.

Your Pathway to International Career
Employer Sponsorship Evaluation: Assessing Eligibility
Our employer sponsored visas close the gap between businesses and required workforce. First step towards obtaining an employer sponsored visa is to establish eligibility from an employer's point of view and whether you are a fit candidate for the job. Candidates should possess the required experience and educational qualifications to be able to apply. Different subclasses require different experience criteria for employees and different regional designated areas of Australia for employers. Also the occupation needs to be a part of the skilled worker occupation list.
Visa Application Process: Ensuring a Smooth Journey
The whole employer sponsored visa process can be overwhelming for applicants who are clueless regarding the various subclasses and which one works better for them. The same goes for employers who may get sceptical about the entire recruitment process. Clyde Migration works for both parties and helps to effectively guide both parties towards a symbiotic goal. We not only guide applicants through the screening process but also after they start their job at their new position in Australia. Both employers and employees have over the years benefitted from our services.
Transition to Permanent Residency: Building Your Future
There may be instances where a candidate may have to apply for an employer sponsored worker visa that does not include permanent residency. It could be due to many reasons, the most common one being that their skill or occupation does not qualify for a subclass visa that grants PR by default. In that case it is imperative to have a plan B ready before you set foot on Australian soil. For example, Australian migration laws allow a subclass 494 Visa (non-PR) holder to apply for a subclass 191 (PR) Visa. We are here to guide you through the entire process with ease.
